The following images illustrate just a few of the screens/windows that you'll come across when using SalezPoint.

POS Screen Setup

setup

One of the most laborious tasks that needs to be completed when setting up a new POS terminal is that of entering your products into the system, and then assigning those products to various on-screen buttons.

SalezPoint is designed to make the setup of new POS screens as simple as possible.

You decide how many POS 'Tabs' to have on screen, and what they are called—in the illustration about these are 'Entrees', 'Mains/Desserts', 'Drinks', 'Beer' etc—each Tab gives you up to 49 buttons to which you can allocate specific Products. When using the POS terminal the user can quickly move from one group of products to another, simply by moving to a new Tab (or page).

When you have setup the Tabs you want, the allocation of a product to each button is as simple as dragging (with a mouse) a product from the 'Unassigned Products' list at the right hand side of the window, to the appropriate button on the POS tab section of the setup window. This makes it easy for you or your staff to setup the system yourselves, in just the way that makes sense to you, and later, if need be, to go in an modify the products and their button allocations with ease.

With this system you're not going to be reliant on having a technician come into your store every time you need a minor modification to the POS screens.

Product List

Products

SalezPoint is more than a simple POS/cash register system -- it's a fully fledged database system which you can use as a tool to manage your business.

Most of the data stored within SalezPoint is accessible via standard data 'List Screens' similar to the Product List shown above. These windows allow you to quickly and easily find information (for example, "which Products are we sourcing from a particular Supplier?"), allow you to modify data to change the way in which the system operates (for example, change a Product from one Stock Group to another, for reporting purposes).

The button palette at the bottom left of the window shown above provides standard functions which can be applied on any list of data - delete records, sort records in the list, search the list for specific data, add new information, print reports and perform other pre-defined functions.

ReceiptPOS Receipts

The receipts that SalezPoint creates and prints can be easily customised. Part of the initial system setup involves adding your company details and (if appropriate) your logo to the system. This logo and details will be then be printed at the top of your receipts.

Likewise it is possible to customise a message at the footer of your receipts (see this illustrated example at right). This allows you to quickly and easily add new messages to the receipts that you'll print out. Add extra information about your business, provide details about special offers and/or upcoming events, or even just thank your clients for their custom.

All printed receipts will show the information illustrated in the example, including

  • Your company GST Number
  • The fact that the total is GST (tax) inclusive
  • The portion of the total that is made up of GST
  • How the customer paid, and
  • How much was tendered for the payment.
  • How much change was given

POS Screen - Other Functions

Page2

The main POS screen has a button called 'Extra Functions' which displays the screen shown above.

This screen provides a longer list view of all the items on the current sale, and also provides a number of other buttons which you can use to perform additional tasks, such as:

  • Entering a Partial Payment: For example in a restaurant situation one Customer wishes to pay for his meal only.
  • Divide Unpaid Total Into Equal Amounts: This allows you to split the unpaid amount into a number of equal portions, for example when the rest of the gentleman's colleagues come to leave the restaurant and they simply want to share the costs for the remainder of the meal, rather than work out who needs to pay for what.
  • Generating Refunds
  • Opening The Cash Drawer
  • View Previous Sales: For example where a customer returns to you and has a query about a previous sale
  • Adding Miscellaneous Text Notes to the Sale

All of these, and the other functions available on this screen illustrate how easy it is to use SalezPoint.
