Just like the full scale Sopwith Camel replica seen at Omaka Aerodrome, Blenheim, this Camel is finished in the colours of Clive Collett. Collett, a Blenheim-born pilot, flew the Camel during WW1, and was credited with 12 victories. He was killed in December 1917 while test flying a captured Albatross in Scotland. This model is now included (free of charge) on the Classic Aircraft In New Zealand Volume 01 CD-ROM, along with three other WW1 aircraft models. The model is distributed as a printable pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format document that you can print out using your own inkjet printer.
The coin in these photos is a New Zealand 10 cent piece (about the size of a US 'dime').
