New Zealand's only airworthy Catalina, ZK-PBY, is
a Canadian Vickers built "Canso" which is owned
and operated by the Catalina Group of New Zealand.
The aircraft was purchased by the group in 1994 and now wears the colour scheme of NZ4017 (XX-T) of No.6 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force.
It is one of only a few remaining airworthy Catalinas in the world. |

P-40 Kittyhawk aircraft have been restored in New
Zealand. Some of these have only flown here once or twice before heading away for overseas owners, but several others have been permanently based in New Zealand allowing many Kiwis to experience the sight and sound of the fighters which the RNZAF put to good use in the Pacific during World War Two.
These disks provide another opportunity to see and hear some of these aircraft, and in some cases to experience the pilots view from the cockpit. This disk set includes the bonus Blu-Ray disk. |
