Wairau Valley to Saint Arnaud - 64.9 km (40.3 miles)
The drive up the Wairau Valley (south-west) from Blenheim to Saint Arnaud is 101km along State Highway 63. This video shows the section of 62km from the Wairau Valley township to Saint Arnaud and then on to the shores of Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park. As you get closer to Saint Arnaud you will see the gradual change in the local vegetation as you climb higher. The grape vines and grassland of the mid-Wairau Valley start to give way to low-alpine scrub closer toward the national park area. | |||||||||
